Application Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in the UW Department of Orthopedic Surgery. We hope this information will answer most of your questions about our program. Should you have further questions, we invite you to contact our Education Office, at (608) 263-0888 by emailing richardson@ortho.wisc.edu.

To be considered for the program, please make sure the following materials reach our offices by October 31, 2009 through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service):

  1. Residency application;
  2. 3 to 4 letters of recommendation;
  3. Medical school transcript;
  4. USMLE Scores; and
  5. Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE, aka Dean's letter).

Our selection committee will review all application files. We will inform you by email via ERAS of their decision regarding an interview. If you should move, it is important that you update your contact information in ERAS.

The 09-10 interview dates will be:

Tuesday, December 8, 2009
Monday, December 14, 2009
Tuesday, January 5, 2010
Monday, January 11, 2010
