What I do as a Physical Therapist
I have practiced in healthcare settings primarily in acute care and outpatient orthopedics. From 1995-2001 before returning for my doctorate, I was Director of Rehabilitation Services at a hospital recognized three times as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in America. Most recently, I worked in outpatient rehabilitation using Pilates/Gyrotonic and became a Certified Gyrotonic Trainer in June, 2007.
Education and Certification
- Became a Certified Gyrotonic Trainer in June, 2007.
- Earned PhD in 2006 from the University of Florida in Educational Administration
- Graduated from Florida with a degree in physical therapy in 1988
- Past continuing education includes Pilates for Osteoporosis, Institute of Physical Art-PNFI, Functional Orthopedics I & II, Lumbopelvic Integration, Canadian Manual Therapy Series - Evaluation & Treatment of Upper and Lower Quadrant, Rocabado Seminars including lumbar, thoracic, cervical spine and TMJ, Current and Advanced Concepts in Wound Care (Feedar) and "Train The Trainer" Professional Residency Ergonomic Program.
Personal Interests
I love to kayak, race walk, read, and play with our two dogs, and I especially love to travel back home to sunny Florida in the winter.
