Meet the Faculty & Staff

Faculty and Staff photo

The UW-Madison Physical Therapy Program faculty and staff are diverse and accomplished. The careers of faculty members represent a broad spectrum of the physical therapy profession. Their accomplishments are numerous and varied, including awards, publications, professional leadership positions, commitment to service, presentations and consulting activities. The staff performs the many activities that support physical therapy education.

As educators, the faculty and staff of the UW-Madison Physical Therapy Program are an energetic, enthusiastic and cohesive team. They work closely together to assure that the learning environment and learning outcomes provide for highly competent entry-level physical therapists. The faculty values and takes pride in being student-centered, approachable, and accessible. They are anxious to share their expertise with students. In addition to teaching, they are also clinicians and researchers.

Each faculty and staff member is instrumental in helping the Program fulfill its mission to "meet the physical therapy needs of the people in the State of Wisconsin and beyond."

Quotes from students about the faculty

"...it is the unique ability of this faculty to serve as both exceptional professional role models and educational mentors, and at the same time, be there for us as friends and fellow human beings who understand and care, that sets this program apart from all others." - Pat, PT-2

"We have an excellent faculty at UW-Madison who are always willing to help in every way possible to make sure we fully understand the concepts. You never really notice how well respected our professors are in the PT world until you hear that people from across the country will travel to hear them talk. And we see them every day! " - Beth, PT-1

"The knowledge faculty bring from current clinical practice is invaluable. It is wonderful to hear from instructors who practice what they preach." - Jim, PT-2

"The faculty love what they do, and it shows. They are so committed to giving us a great education and will bend over backward to help students out." - Christa, PT-1

"The faculty are extraordinarily dedicated, and it is clear that they are truly passionate about teaching and the field of physical therapy." - Mary, PT-2

"I have come to realize during my time here at UW that the faculty want to know each student outside of the classroom. Whether it is to share a laugh or to provide a shoulder to cry on, they are committed to knowing each student individually." - Jason, PT-2
