Student Scholarships
The Physical Therapy Program offers several scholarships to enrolled
students. More information about scholarship opportunities can be found
on the Physical Therapy bulletin board.
Awarded after completing first year in Program:

Description |
Wisconsin Physical Therapy Alumni Stipend
($1500) |
Established to fund two first year students who wish to serve
as Instructional Assistants in Anatomy 622 and PT 501 for the incoming
Physical Therapy students. |
Caroline, Clara, Charles, and Mildred
Harper Scholarships (2 x $1200) |
The Harper Scholarships are annual awards to two first-year
female physical therapy students who demonstrate exemplary academic
achievment and financial need. |
Barbara Ellen Gerlich-Hoefeyzer Scholarship
($800) |
The Barbara Ellen Gerlich-Hoefeyzer Scholarships recognize her
many contributions to the profession of physical therapy. These
annual awards are for one first-year and one second-year physical
therapy student who demonstrate exemplary academic achievment, financial
need, evidence of service to the UW-Madison and/or community, and
evidence for potential leadership in the field of physical therapy.

Amelia Doyan Scholarship ($500) |
The Amelia Doyan Scholarship is an annual award to
one first-year female physical therapy student who demonstrate exemplary
academic achievment and financial need. This scholarship recognizes
Amelia Doyan's many contributions to the physical therapy profession.

Physical Therapy Student Scholarship (variable amount) |
The Physical Therapy Student Scholarship is an annual award to a first
or second year physical therapy student. The scholarship was made possible
through the generous gift of an anonymous donor and matching funds from
the Ford Motor Company. |

Description |
Margaret Kohli Scholarship ($2000) |
An annual award to a physical therapy student in his/her final year
of study. This scholarship honors Margaret A. Kohli, Professor Emerita,
University of Wisconsin-Madison, for a distinguished career of teaching
and service at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and also recognizes
her many contributions to the profession of physical therapy. This
scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates exemplary academic
achievment, evidence of service to the University of Wisconsin-Madison
and/or community, evidence for potential leadership in the field of
physical therapy, and interest in an academic career in Physical Therapy. |
Jean Roland Schlarship ($600) |
Awarded annually to a physical therapy student in the last semester
of his/her final year of study. This scholarship honors Jean L. Roland
for a distinguished career as a physical therapist, her service to
children with disabilities and her contributions to the physical therapy
profession. This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates
exemplary academic achievment, evidence of service to the University
of Wisconsin-Madison and/or community, evidence for potential leadership
in the field of physical therapy, and interest in an academic career
in Physical Therapy. |
Wisconsin Physical Therapy Alumni Scholarship ($1500) |
Graduates of the UW program have established the UW PT
Alumni Scholarships. This scholarship has been established to fund
a second-year Physical Therapy Master’s Degree candidate who
demonstrates evidence of leadership and current promotion of the profession
of Physical Therapy, evidence of scholarly activity and academic excellence,
and evidence for potential leadership in the field of physical therapy.
