Clinical Specialties

Dr. Rudin joined the UW Rehabilitation Medicine faculty in 2001 after six years on the Johns Hopkins faculty, and is Medical Director of the UW Pain Treatment and Research Center. He is an active teacher, author and researcher, and has served on national and statewide task forces developing guidelines for chronic pain management. Dr. Rudin was the inaugural recipient of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's first endowed residency award, the Joanne S. Crown Residency, which recognizes "understanding, compassion and appreciation of quality of life issues for patients." In 2004 the UW Rehabilitation Medicine residents awarded him their annual Clinical Teaching Award for excellence in instruction and mentorship. Dr. Rudin is Secretary of the Midwest Pain Society. Dr. Rudin is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He specializes in acute and chronic pain management, electrodiagnosis, and occupational medicine.


Research Interests

Dr Rudin's research interests include chronic pain disorders, particularly fibromyalgia and spinal conditions; assessment of rehabilitation outcome; and medical applications of computing.
