Rehabilitation Residency

Note: We will accept only those application materials sent electronically through ERAS.

What is ERAS? The ERAS is the Electronic Residency Application Service from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). This service transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Dean's Letters, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from medical schools to residency programs via the Internet. This system has been introduced to enhance the transition to residency by improving efficiency at medical schools and programs and to substantially reduce the amount of time you, as a medical student, would be required to devote to the residency application process.

Those applying for the integrated program (which includes the first-year formal internship year) are required to register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Up to three first year positions are offered yearly. The Department of PM&R is budgeted to provide a maximum of four residency positions for each subsequent training year. Applicants must be graduates of medical schools accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.

Graduates of Foreign Medical Schools

Exceptionally qualified graduates of foreign medical schools are eligible for appointment, provided they have been certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). For certification and examination information contact ECFMG, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-2685, USA, or the nearest United States embassy or consulate.

Wisconsin Licensure

Wisconsin licensure is required for all house officers who have completed one year of approved postgraduate training in the United States or Canada.
