Message from the Program Director
Dear Colleague: Thank you for your interest in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin , and congratulations on your choice of PM&R as a career. The diversity of our field provides ample opportunity for developing a rewarding career in a variety of settings, and our training program will help you work toward that goal. We emphasize balance in our program between inpatient and outpatient settings. In the inpatient setting you will manage patients with a variety of disabilities and lead a skilled multidisciplinary team. Our outpatient clinics provide ample opportunities to work with a range of diagnoses from acute musculoskeletal injuries to chronic pain, including interventions, sports medicine, and workers' compensation. We also offer thorough and diverse training in EMG. Our Faculty have an ongoing commitment to both clinical and didactic teaching. We have opportunities for research with all of the resources of a large academic institution. Madison provides a unique living environment with the cultural and recreational advantages of a larger city without many of the problems. It consistently does well on lists of “Best Places to Live." We hope you will consider us for your training.
