PAIN & MUSCULOSKELETAL FELLOWSHIP
JULY 1, 2010 - JUNE 30, 2011


DIVISION OF REHABILITATION MEDICINE
DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPEDICS AND REHABILITATION
UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE & PUBLIC HEALTH

This one-year fellowship in spine/pain (80%) and general musculoskeletal (20%) medicine is designed to provide training in evaluation and management of pain arising from spinal, musculoskeletal and other pain disorders. Trainees will learn and practice an interdisciplinary approach to pain medicine, including appropriate use of analgesic pharmacotherapy, minimally invasive interventions including spinal procedures, psychological and rehabilitation interventions. Participation and presentation at monthly journal clubs is required. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching PM&R residents, medical students and midlevel providers. Research is mandatory, and at least one research project must be completed and presented at a national meeting for satisfactory completion of fellowship training. Compensation and benefits are equivalent to PGY-5 level.
