Application Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in the UW Department of Orthopedic Surgery. We hope this information will answer most of your questions about our program. Should you have further questions, we invite you to contact Gina Florek, resident coordinator, at (608) 263-0888 or email florek@ortho.wisc.edu

To be considered for the program, please make sure the following materials reach our offices by November 1, 2003 through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service):

  1. your residency application;
  2. three letters of recommendation (as indicated in the application form);
  3. your medical school transcript;
  4. your NBME scores (unless you are exempt by your school) or your FLEX scores (if they are available); and
  5. a letter of support from your dean.
All application files will be reviewed by our selection committee. We will inform you by either mail or telephone of their decision regarding an interview. If you should move, it is important that you send us written notice of your change of address and telephone number.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
